Haptics Research Center

Longevity

Summary

One of most urgent and important issues in 21st century is sustainable growth of super-mature society. Such society will more and more need artificial support such as robotics, power assist machines and so on in order to both improve quality of life and strengthen competitiveness of industry. The present machines lack flexibility of motion and it is difficult and sometimes dangerous to introduce them into our society. If they have haptic ability, such difficulty will be overcome. This project starting from academic basis of real haptics will excite technical and social innovations with help of industry and government to solve various problems in super-mature society in 21st century.
