Summary
KIPIS is a multidisciplinary Internet policy research group that engages internationally with major university Internet research centers in the Asian region and globally. Major programs include the Asia Forum, a collaborative research project with Korea University's Cyber Law Centre, and the APRU (Association of Pacific Rim Universities) Internet Economy Initiative, which seeks to expand and deepen interaction between the academic community in the region and business, government and civil society on common challenges relating to Internet economy and governance. KIPIS also organizes a number of domestic policy forums each year on developments in Japanese Internet policy on issues, such as privacy, cybersecurity, spectrum policy and standards.
