Summary of Lecture:
4G wireless communications systems have been deployed in many areas. However, services required in smart mobile phones and larger number of connected devices in Internet of Things (IoT) and machine-to-machine (M2M) technologies are going to demand the ultra high-speed data transmission and very low latency that cannot be accommodated by 4G technology. These demands have led researchers and designers to begin the developing of 5G networks. In this lecture, various key technologies for 5G wireless communication systems are introduced and challenges facing these potential technologies are also discussed in first part of lecture. Among these key technologies, low computational complexity methods for resource allocation in massive MIMO systems have been presented in emaining part of lecture.

Biography:
Maung Sann Maw received the B.E degree in electronics engineering from Mandalay Technological University (MTU), Myanmar,in 1998. From 1998 to 2002, he was an instructor in the Dept. of Electronic Engineering at MTU. From 2002 to 2005, he also worked as a telecommunication engineer in one of the largest internet service provider (ISP) in Myanmar at hat time. He received the M.Sc. in Engineering and Ph.D. in Engineering degrees from Keio University, Japan, in 2007 and 2011, respectively. He was doing research in Keio University as a Visiting Associate Professor from 2012 to 2014. At 2015-2017, he worked as a Visiting Professor for Yangon Technological University and Thanlyin Technological University in Myanmar. Since April 2017, he has joined Keio University as a visiting professor and later he was promoted to Guest Professor (Global) in Keio University. He is currently working as a Professor of Chindwin Technological University, Myanmar and Guest Professor (Global) of Keio University, Japan. His research interests include 5G mobile communication, massive MIMO technologies, broadband multicarrier/OFDM techniques, dynamic resource allocation for wireless networks and Internet of Things (IoT).
