[Event Report] Keio Research Showcase Special Contents Series Vol.1: "Intersection of words, a sequence of learning" (held on July 11, 2024)
2024.10.15On July 11, 2024, as the first event of the Keio Research Showcase Special Contents Series a talk event titled "Intersection of words, a sequence of learning" was held featuring singer, actress, and poet Ms. Yo Hitoto.
At the beginning of the event, the Director of KGRI, Professor Yuko Kimijima of the Faculty of Law, made an opening speech and explained the mission of KGRI and the intent of the Research Showcase program.
Under the moderation of freelance announcer Ms. Hiromi Ohara, Ms. Hitoto, Professor Junichi Ushiba of the Faculty of Science and Technology and Professor Tatsuhiko Yamamoto of the Law School, who have been close friends since their university days, took the stage and gave a relaxed talk to the faculty and students gathered at the hall.

They talked about a wide range of topics with a cross-disciplinary perspective, including the importance of real interaction, collaboration, and dialogue with friends, the relationship between AI and creativity dealing with the digital age, and the role of university as place where people can deeply interact each other. In answering questions solicited in advance, Ms. Hitoto intently spun out her words and the audience was filled with empathy.

The event ended with closing remarks by Masayuki Amagai, Vice President for research, mentioning again the power of words and their backstories, and the significance of transcending barriers.
