[Information] CPS Center: Digital Identity Study Group "Withdrawal of Consent" (January 27, 2024)

2024.01.15

Even if they have given their consent to the use of their own personal data, it can be assumed that they may wish to withdraw that consent. In Japan, however, the principle of legally binding of the contract prevents the free withdrawal of consent. On the other hand, in France, there is a lot of discussion regarding the withdrawal of consent. Specifically, it has been argued that the payment of money should be allowed to withdraw consent. Therefore, this workshop will be organized to offer a new perspective on Japanese law by using French law as a comparison.
