[Event Report]OIST-KEIO Showcase Talk Series 5 -Science Meets Society: Exploring the Nexus of Planetary Well-being for a Sustainable Future（held on November 16-17, 2023）
2023.11.28On Thursday November 16 and Friday 17, the "OIST-KEIO Showcase Talk Series 5 - Science Meets Society: Exploring the Nexus of Planetary Well-being for a Sustainable Future," jointly hosted by Keio University and the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University (OIST), was successfully held both on-site at OIST and online.
From Keio University, 23 faculty and staff members including President Kohei Itoh, Vice-President Masayuki Amagai, Prof. Yuko Kimijima, Director of the KGRI, Prof. Takanori Kanai, Dean of the School of Medicine, and Prof. Toshiharu Saiki, Dean of the Graduate School of Science and Technology, attended the event held at OIST. Overall, a total of 278 participants attended from both universities and other institutions for two days.
The event commenced with greetings from executive members of OIST and Keio University, followed by an opening keynote talk by President Itoh. Researchers from both universities then introduced their respective research themes, engaging in enthusiastic discussions about their research content and future collaborations. On the afternoon of the second day, OIST lab tours were conducted, providing Keio's faculty members with an opportunity to experience the international and world-class research environment at OIST.
