Leadership Endowed Course: "Leadership Basics"
Lecturer: Associate Professor Kazuhiko Fuchikawa (Faculty of Law), Project Professor Jiro Tamura (KGRI) Class Period & Day: 4th period on Monday (Autumn Semester)
In this course, lectures incorporating the latest leadership theories based on the most advanced leadership research and education worldwide and participatory classes focusing on "dialogue" among participants, or active learning, will be conducted. By systematically learning global leadership from both theoretical and practical perspectives, the program fosters human resources with the ability to lead, collaborate, dialogue, and make decisions. In addition, workshops will be held in parallel, where groups will explore social issues and put together proposals, to practice "Practical Science" that applies to learn to the real world.
The diverse experiences gained through these lectures will strengthen students' communication skills and lead them to deep thinking about the true purpose of their university life, as they naturally face themselves in relationships with others.
For Students
Keio University Global Research Institute (KGRI) offers courses on cutting-edge issues taught by its faculty and invited experts from various fields. One of these courses, "Leadership Basics," is a genuine living discipline in which the latest leadership theories are researched with overseas researchers. The results are returned to the course as education, and the students' learning is measured and returned to the research as data.
KGRI is promoting interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research in close collaboration with related educational and research fields at Keio.
1. Courses and handling of registrations
Keio students from all faculties and graduate schools can register for this class, and it will be held in Hiyoshi Campus this autumn semester. There will be no pre-assignment, but a lottery may be held if there are too many applicants.
This course will focus on active learning to develop leadership basic skills, and attendance will be required at every class in principle. For more information about the course, please watch the video below.
