(Report) Graduate student workshop "A Variety of Media in Transforming East Asia" (July.30, 2019)
2019.08.06On 30 July 2019 (Tuesday), "Risk Society and the Media" project hosted the graduate student workshop entitled "A Variety of Media in Transforming East Asia" at the Keio University Global Research Institute on Keio Mita Campus.
There were five presentations concerning the media and social transformation in East Asia. Each presentation was original and informative, although some were still at the early stages of their research. The guest commentator was Professor Dal Yong JIN from School of Communication, Simon Fraser University, Canada. Prof. Jin made constructive comments for all presentations, while the audience raised various questions and some were critical comments. The workshop received 15 participants; both graduate and undergraduate students and faculty members from Keio as well as a researcher from outside. It ended in a big success.
